In August 2019, Jacqueline had just moved back to Sarnia. She was excited about an amazing new job opportunity, but also a little nervous — it was a big change after spending six years away at school and working in London. She hadn’t grown up in Sarnia and had only lived here for Grade 12, so outside of her core high school friends and family, she was starting fresh.

One day, while scrolling through Bumble ( A dating app where the woman has to be the one to start the conversation), Jacqueline came across Andrew’s profile. There were three photos: one of a guy in sunglasses, one group shot of the boys… and one of the most adorable, beautiful Husky.

She did think the guy in the sunglasses was pretty cute...but let’s be honest, it was the Husky that sealed the deal. So she went with the incredibly smooth opening line:

“Aw, is that your husky?” (We know… very original.)

He replied, "Yes! Thats Stella" — and as cheesy as it sounds, that’s where it all began. We like to think our beloved dog Stella was actually our matchmaker all along.

Since that first Bumble conversation, we’ve built a beautiful life together. In 2020, we added our second dog, Maya, to the family. In 2022, we purchased our first home together. We’ve filled our years with unforgettable vacations, quiet nights in, big dreams, and lots of laughter.

In 2024, our greatest adventure began when we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Julia. Becoming parents, navigating the late nights, the “are we doing this right?” moments, and the overwhelming joy of watching her grow has strengthened our love in ways we never imagined.

The life we’ve created together already feels so full, and yet we know this is only the beginning. We are so excited to continue growing our family, building traditions, and making memories that will last a lifetime.

And to think… it all started with a Husky. 🤍
